Preschool Chinese Enrichment in Singapore (N1 to K2)

A joyful first relationship with Chinese.

幼儿华文

Warm, active lessons help young children listen, speak, recognise characters and prepare for Primary 1.

A GENTLE BEGINNING FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

First, help Chinese feel familiar.

从亲近华文,到愿意开口

Children experience Chinese through stories, songs, movement, drawing and meaningful conversation before formal learning becomes demanding.

“We mostly speak English at home.”

Familiar stories, everyday words and classroom interaction give children opportunities to encounter and use Chinese.

“My child understands but rarely speaks.”

Simple questions, picture prompts and encouragement make room for small attempts before longer sentences.

“Will my child be ready for Primary 1?”

Develop early reading, expression and writing habits progressively, with more structured preparation as children approach K2.

PRESCHOOL FOUNDATION · FAQs

Questions about this programme.

Speak with our team about your child’s individual needs.

Does my child need to speak Chinese before joining?

Tell the team about your child’s current exposure to Chinese. The preschool programme begins with interest and everyday expression, and the assessment helps identify a suitable starting point.

Nursery learning emphasises familiarity, participation and simple expression. Kindergarten progressively adds early reading, character recognition, writing readiness and preparation for Primary 1.

AiWen’s preschool pathway introduces writing gradually through drawing, strokes and simple characters. The emphasis depends on the child’s stage and readiness.

Keep Chinese moments short and encouraging. Revisit a familiar picture book, name everyday objects or invite your child to share a word learned in class. Ask the teacher for activities suited to your child.

AiWen’s curriculum covers N1 to K2. Contact the team to confirm current nursery and kindergarten class availability before choosing a programme.
